Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support the Springfield Cancer Center team and provide patient-centered care under physician supervision. You will review health records, measure vital signs, prepare rooms, and assist with exams.

The role focuses on accurate documentation, strong communication with patients and staff, and adherence to state guidelines for medical assisting. Experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• One year of medical assistant healthcare experience preferred, not required.
• Two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office preferred, not required.
• Certification as CMA, RMA, CCMA or other nationally recognized MA credential.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community with professional, respectful customer service.
• Review and update patient charts, verify diagnostic tests and hospital reports.
• Measure vital signs: pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, height.
• Perform clerical duties: inventory, stock, referrals, and phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly; perform other duties as assigned.
