Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center seeks a Mammography Technologist for a part-time on-site role in Georgia. You will perform high-quality imaging, communicate with patients, and collaborate with a fast-paced imaging team to ensure safety and accuracy.

The role emphasizes patient comfort, adherence to ACR/MQSA QC, and ongoing education. Prior radiologic technologist experience with mammography is preferred, with ARRT certifications and BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT-R and ARRt-M certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong knowledge of mammography protocols and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol.
• Confirm patient identity with two identifiers.
• Explain the exam clearly and reduce patient anxiety (AIDET).
• Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and comfort during positioning and transfers.
• Review images for quality and completeness with a first-time acceptance focus.
• Operate equipment safely and maintain calibration and QC tests.
• Label, document, and archive images in PACS/RIS; accurate daily charge capture.
• Keep the exam room clean, stocked, and compliant with FDA guidelines.
• Provide clear pre- and post-exam instructions and address questions from patients.
• Support training of new team members and stay current with required education.
