Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center is seeking a Mammography Technologist for a part-time role. You will perform mammography exams per physician orders, ensure patient comfort and privacy, and maintain imaging quality for a fast-paced clinical team.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year as a Radiologic Technologist and 1 year of mammography in a hospital.
• Certifications: ARRT-R, ARRT-M, and BLS from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol with two identifiers.
• Gather history, screen contraindications, and explain exam to reduce anxiety (AIDET).
• Protect privacy and comfort; assist transfers and positioning as needed.
• Review images for quality and first-time acceptance before release.
• Use clinical judgment; clarify orders (RBAC) and assist across imaging areas as needed.
• Operate mammography equipment safely; optimize dose and maintain cleanliness.
• Perform and document QC tests (ACR/MQSA) as required.
• Label, orient, and document images in PACS/RIS; daily charge capture.
• Keep suite clean and stocked; apply shielding and immobilization devices.
• Provide pre-/post-exam instructions; address questions or escalate to providers.
• Maintain timely documentation; monitor emails and required training.
• Communicate professionally; work well in a fast-paced team with anatomy/radiation safety knowledge.
