Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse for Jail West Tower. This full-time day shift (6A-6P) offers the opportunity to provide total nursing care under RN supervision, ensuring quality patient outcomes.

The LVN must be licensed in Texas (or Compact) and hold a current BLS certification. You will follow established standards and collaborate with multiple care teams to support patient needs and workflow.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program; licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing or holds a Compact LVN license.
• Current LVN license and BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Under supervision of RN/NP, provide patient-centered nursing care per protocols and standards.

Responsibilities

• Screens and prioritizes patients per physician orders and policies.
• Assists with inpatient/clinic flow, treatments, and discharge activities.
• Maintains compliance with nursing regulations, policies and Joint Commission standards.
• Educates patients and families; may participate in community outreach as assigned.
• Precepts new staff and students; completes documentation as required.
