Job summary

Gardens of Somerset in Monroe, LA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide licensed nursing services to assisted living residents, supervise nursing assistants on the unit, and ensure a caring, safe environment with high quality of life.

The LPN administers medications per physician orders, documents care, follows state board regulations, identifies problems, and communicates changes to the charge nurse to support continuity of care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Louisiana LPN license in good standing.
• Must meet healthcare requirements, including TB skin test.
• Must be in good standing with Direct Services Worker Registry.
• CPR and adult first aid certification within 90 days of hire.
• Assisted Living Facility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and document medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Provide direct nursing care and supervise nursing assistants on your unit.
• Promote a caring, homelike environment and effective communication of resident needs.
• Identify resident problems and emergencies and initiate life-saving measures if needed in absence of a physician.
• Report changes in residents' conditions promptly to the charge nurse or designee.
