Qualifications

• Must have an active LPN license in the state.
• Current CPR certification; additional nursing specialty certification desired.
• Knowledge of basic nursing practices with a gerontological focus.
• Prefer 2 years' experience in a long-term care setting.
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with EMRs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates nursing care of residents on the unit with assigned nurse aides.
• Provides safe and accurate medication-related interventions to residents.
• Administers and documents medications and treatments per schedule.
• Performs wound care, catheter care, oxygen care, and related procedures as ordered.
• Notifies physician of changes in status and updates orders promptly.
• Prepares work assignments considering resident safety and staff abilities.
• Reports staff shortages to nursing management and participates in reviews.
