Qualifications

• Must hold a current state license to practice as an LPN.
• CPR certification required; interest in gerontological nursing preferred.
• Prefer 2 years of experience in a long-term care setting.
• Basic computer skills; experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates nursing care for residents on the unit.
• Documents medications and treatments per schedule.
• Administers medications and performs routine treatments.
• Monitors residents’ health status and notifies physician of changes.
• Receives medications from the pharmacy and maintains narcotics accountability.
• Coordinates staffing assignments to ensure resident safety.
• Responds to resident requests for pain intervention and documents accordingly.
• Maintains accurate records and supports physician orders.
