Qualifications

• Must have a current state LPN license and CPR certification.
• Demonstrates knowledge of basic nursing practice with geriatric focus.
• Prefer 2 years of experience in a long-term care setting.
• Basic computer skills and experience with EMR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates nursing care on the unit ensuring appropriate nurse aide coverage.
• Uses independent judgment on behalf of the organization in performing duties.
• Administers and documents medications and treatments per schedule.
• Provides treatments per physician orders including wound care and other care as needed.
• Orders and receives medications from the pharmacy and secures narcotics.
• Notifies physician of status changes and implements new orders.
• Prepares work assignments considering safety and staff capabilities.
• Reports staff shortages to nursing management and participates in performance actions.
