Job summary

TSALI CARE CENTER in Cherokee, NC seeks a Cook Aide - Temporary to assist with meals, pantry, and kitchen sanitation. You will receive instructions from Cook Supervisor and help with inventory, food prep, and serving.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED or related experience; Safe Food Handler training is preferred. Must be able to stand, lift up to 40 pounds, and communicate in English. This is a temporary, part-time role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or 1-year experience in a food related field is required.
• 1–3 months in the position to become proficient with prior food prep/service experience.
• Completion of Safe Food Handler’s Course preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives instructions from Cook Supervisor for meals and assists in preparation.
• Demonstrates positive resident relations and adheres to quality care standards.
• Acts as resident services contact during meals and processes guest meal charges.
• Cleans and sanitizes kitchen, storage, and serving areas.
• Serves residents promptly, courteously, and in an orderly manner.
• Assists cooks with tracking food and inventory; performs other duties as assigned.
