Job summary

CODA is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support meal preparation for residents in a healthcare setting. You will assist with nutritious, compliant menus, inventory management, and safe food handling, while maintaining clean storage areas and following health regulations.

You will lift and move stock, train residents, and assist with site inspections and community donations, contributing to CODA’s mission and care standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Prior experience with menu planning and food preparation for large groups in healthcare settings is required.
• Knowledge of infection control and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cook with meal preparation for residents.
• Prepare healthy meals in accordance with planned menus and safety regulations.
• Assist in inventorying and storing incoming food and supplies; keep storage areas clean.
• Move and lift stock and equipment as necessary.
• Direct residents at residential sites in preparing and cooking meals.
• Assist with donation pick-up from Food Bank and other donation sites.
• Prepare for site inspections from regulatory agencies.
• Train residents on safe food handling.
