Job summary

CODA in Tigard, OR is seeking a full-time cook assistant to support meal preparation for residents. You will follow planned menus, ensure safety and health standards, and help with storage, inventory, and basic kitchen duties.

You will train residents in safe food handling, assist with site inspections, and maintain accurate temperature records while interacting with clients and staff in a respectful, professional manner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in menu planning and food preparation for large groups in health-care.
• Oregon Food Handler’s card required.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Valid Oregon or Washington driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cook with meal preparation for residents.
• Prepare meals according to planned menus and health regulations.
• Inventory and store incoming food and supplies; move and lift stock.
• Direct residents in preparing and cooking meals.
• Assist with donation pickups from Food Bank and other sites.
• Prepare for site inspections by regulatory agencies.
• Train residents on safe food handling practices.
• Complete administrative forms and reports.
• Maintain temperature controls, storage, and rotation.
• Keep kitchen clean and organized; travel to purchase items.
• Interact with clients and staff professionally.
