Job summary

Authentic Home Care, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Worker and Homemaker to provide in-home support for a female client in Arvada, CO. The role involves assisting with personal care, meals, light housekeeping, errands, and companionship in the client’s home.

The caregiver will follow the individualized care plan, document health updates, and maintain a safe living environment. A HS diploma, 18+ years of age, and caregiving experience are required, with a preference for a driver's

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• One year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Compassionate nature and a strong desire to help others.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team.
• Reliable, respectful, and empathetic when working with clients.
• Must be able and willing to travel to the client’s home.
• Current and valid driver’s license preferred, along with regular access to a reliable motor vehicle.
• Must be able to access the client’s home, which may not be routinely wheelchair accessible.
• Must be comfortable working in a home with dogs.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services as needed.
• Assist with meal preparation and feeding while following dietary needs and preferences.
• Provide care according to the client’s individualized plan of care and required training.
• Monitor and document the client’s health and well-being and report changes to the appropriate personnel.
• Provide companionship and engage the client in conversation to promote emotional well-being.
• Utilize appropriate behavior management techniques to promote a positive and supportive environment.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment in areas like bedroom, living room, and kitchen.
• Run errands as needed.
• Follow agency policies and procedures and applicable regulations related to direct care in the client’s home.
• Follow privacy, health, safety, universal precautions, and infection-control requirements.
• Understand and fulfill the responsibilities of a Mandated Reporter and complete required annual training.
• Use the agency’s electronic verification system to follow the individualized plan of care and accurately clock in and out.
