Job summary

Senior Helpers of New Haven Coast is seeking reliable and compassionate caregivers to help older adults live safely and independently in their own homes. We welcome applicants with or without professional caregiving experience, who bring patience, integrity, and a genuine desire to serve others.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age
• Compassionate, dependable, patient, and respectful
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow written care plans and complete required documentation
• Willingness to complete required training and skills assessments
• Reliable transportation to and from assigned clients
• Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance when driving is required
• Previous experience in home care or related settings is a plus

Responsibilities

• Offer companionship and social engagement
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene
• Help with walking, mobility, positioning, and safe transfers
• Prepare meals and assist with eating
• Provide medication reminders
• Complete light housekeeping, laundry, and linen changes
• Assist with errands and authorized transportation
• Support clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s
• Monitor changes in condition and report concerns promptly
• Document services accurately and on time
• Follow care plans, safety practices, and company procedures
