Job summary

Senior Helpers of New Haven Coast is hiring dependable and compassionate Caregivers and Personal Care Assistants to support seniors in their homes in East Haven and surrounding New Haven County communities.

Our caregivers help clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent while providing families with trusted support and peace of mind—and you can grow with paid training, flexible schedules, and a supportive, nurse-owned leadership team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Willing to complete required training and skills assessments.
• Reliable transportation to and from client assignments.
• Prior caregiving experience preferred but not required for every assignment.
• CNA, HHA, PCA, or similar training welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and meaningful conversation.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other personal care needs.
• Support safe walking, mobility, positioning, and transfers.
• Prepare meals and assist with eating when needed.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and linen changes.
• Run errands and provide transportation when authorized.
• Support clients with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.
• Observe and report changes in client’s condition or needs.
• Accurately document services and activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
• Follow each client’s care plan and policies.
