Covenant Living Communities and CovenantCare Home Health and Hospice in Chicago, IL is seeking a Housekeeper to maintain campus cleanliness and provide minor maintenance, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for residents and staff.

You will follow established schedules, perform cleaning in assigned areas, handle trash and recycling, assist with linen, make beds, move items, and report repairs while following infection control guidelines.

Qualifications

• English communication with residents and staff.
• Dependability and ability to organize daily cleaning schedule.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with limited supervision.
• Interest in and desire to work with older adults is a plus.
• Weekend availability may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedule and infection control guidelines.
• Complete minor maintenance including changing light bulbs, plunging toilets and replacing batteries as needed.
• Follow the established schedule to perform cleaning tasks inside and outside per department standards.
• Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, stripping, scrubbing, waxing, vacuuming, extraction, hosting and buffing.
• Assist with cleaning emergency spills as observed or reported.
• Perform project cleaning such as walls, ceilings, vents, light fixtures, and windows.
• Remove trash and recyclables and transport to dumpster areas; replace liners as needed.
• Deep clean rooms/units during transfers/discharges per standards.
• Move furniture as needed and assist in resident moves.
• Participate in linen program and handling in-coming linen.
• Make beds in guest rooms or residences as needed.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report repairs.
• Observe and report facility and fixture repairs needed.
• Receive campus supplies and assist with deliveries.
• Assist with campus snow and ice salting as needed.
