Job summary

Matheny Medical and Educational Center in New Jersey is seeking a Full-Time Unit Coordinator for the Nursing unit, hours 8:00am-4:00pm. This role supports patient admissions, chart management, data entry, and coordination of medical trips to outside providers.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and CPR Level C certification. Experience with developmentally disabled individuals is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals preferred.
• Good interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Uses discretion and protects the confidentiality of patient information.
• Performs receptionist duties for the Nursing unit.
• Performs patient admissions, transfers, and discharge procedures.
• Manages all patient charts and reports.
• Performs data entry as required by the Nurse Manager.
• Manages the supplies and equipment on the Nursing unit.
• Possesses knowledge of computers and other office and unit equipment.
• Ensures that office equipment is in good working condition.
• Maintains current and accurate information on the bulletin board.
• Maintains reference books and Policy/Procedure manuals.
• Assists, as directed, during emergency situations. Knows where emergency equipment is located.
• Coordinates patients’ medical trips to outside providers.
