Job summary

Lower Cape Fear LifeCare seeks a dedicated Hospice Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in home settings for patients from newborns to geriatrics. You will manage care using the Nursing Process, educate families, and delegate tasks to LPNs/NAs to ensure optimal outcomes.

The role requires NC/SC RN licensure, 2 years of nursing experience (home care or hospice preferred), strong communication, and ability to lift up to 45 lbs. A reliable vehicle and flexible schedule are needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing (AD, Diploma or BSN).
• Current license to practice professional nursing in NC/SC.
• Two years of nursing experience, preferably in home care or hospice.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, physicians and staff.
• Able to lift up to 45 pounds and drive to patient homes.
• English literacy and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for life-limiting illnesses using the Nursing Process.
• Educate patients and families according to the Plan of Care.
• Document all required information per policies, accreditation and law.
• Delegate duties to LPNs and NAs while maintaining quality care.
• Organize and manage workload and schedule for program efficiency.
• Demonstrate mission, vision and values in daily practice.
• Communicate effectively with the care team and patients' families.
