Job summary

Hospice of Huntington, Inc. is seeking a Physician Assistant to assess, treat, counsel, and educate hospice and palliative care patients using advanced assessment techniques. The role reports to the Chief Medical Director and Supervising Physician with VP of Clinical Services.

The position offers per diem, with part-time or full-time consideration, and involves collaboration with the medical team to manage pain and symptoms and to educate staff and families.

Qualifications

• Completion of Accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Master's degree required.
• Current PA license in Ohio and West Virginia.
• Minimum two years PA experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs consultative visits for certification and recertification assessment.
• Performs consultative visits for pain and symptom management.
• Offers clinical changes to plan of care with collaboration from attending physician.
• Provides staff training on clinical aspects and end-of-life care.
• Reviews diagnosis, assessment criteria, and pain/symptom management with medical directors.
• Participates in research and quality improvement processes.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and educates patients/families about Hospice of Huntington.
