Job summary

University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH) in Maryland is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for part-time residential hospice. Working days, every other weekend and one weekday, you will assist with basic nursing tasks, take vital signs, aid activities of daily living, and support the interdisciplinary care team.

Under supervision, you will perform blood draws, venipuncture, glucose monitoring, catheter care, EKG setup, and specimen collection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Maryland CNA or GNA certification required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• One year of prior healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and document observations.
• Assist with activities of daily living and patient comfort.
• Collect specimens and perform basic nursing tasks under supervision.
• Perform venipuncture for blood draws and establish IV access as directed.
• Set up and operate EKG equipment and monitor rhythm strips.
• Assist with wound care and catheter care as needed.
