Job summary

Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support RN in daily patient care across units. You will assist with bathing, feeding, mobility, and monitoring of vital signs, documenting in the EMR, and reporting observations to the nurse.

You'll participate in admissions and discharges, help with specimen collection and transport, and ensure patient safety and comfort. This role requires Basic Life Support certification and good communication skills.

Qualifications

• GED or high school equivalency diploma required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to set priorities.
• Certification Addendum compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation.
• Measure and document vital signs (BP, TPR, I&O), daily weights, and other patient data in EMR.
• Perform rounding and promptly communicate observations and needs to RN.
• Assist in admission, transfer and discharge processes under supervision of RN.
• Collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens; perform point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Maintain stock, clean equipment and work areas, and run errands as directed.
• Assist with patient positioning and transfers, support diet needs and skin care.
• Practice infection prevention and PPE procedures and ensure age-appropriate care.
