Job summary

Agrace in Madison, WI is seeking a part-time Certified Nursing Assistant for the Inpatient Unit (IPU) on the 11pm-7:30am shift. The role involves helping with activities of daily living, light homemaker tasks, and documenting care in the electronic health record.

Rotations include weekends and holidays, with no mandatory overtime. The CNA IPU focuses on patient- and family-centered care in alignment with Agrace policies and goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Graduation from an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant program.
• Current, unrestricted Nursing Assistant Certification in state of employment.
• One-year personal care experience, hospice, or home health, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience using electronic health records.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality about patients, families, caregivers, staff, donors, and organizational intellectual property.
• Ability to use proper body mechanics, safe patient handling, and standard precautions.

Responsibilities

• Assist Patients with Activities of Daily Living and mobility tasks.
• Provide light homemaker assistance and meal delivery.
• Read, follow, and document the plan of care in the EHR.
• Document changes in condition and report to care team.
• Reinforce patient and family education.
• Participate in meetings to plan and evaluate patient/family services.
• Precept new staff and students.
• Delegate tasks to volunteers as appropriate.
