Job summary

Apploi is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for hospice care in Roanoke, VA. The aide works under the supervision of an RN to deliver compassionate, patient‑centered care per the patient plan of care.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, documenting observations in EMR, and reporting changes promptly. A valid CNA license and driver’s license are required, with vaccination compliance and willingness to work within a hospice team.

Qualifications

• Completion of state-certified CNA program or equivalent with current license.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read/write instructions and document care.
• Comfort with hospice philosophy and terminally ill patients.
• One year hospice or long-term care experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills to document in EMR.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care per patient plan and report changes to RN Case Manager.
• Communicate with patient and family respectfully and confidentially.
• Ensure safety and proper use of equipment.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, oral care, and bed linens.
• Assist in dressing, feeding, and mobility as directed.
• Offer and assist with bedpans and light household tasks.
• Document observations and care provided accurately in EMR.
• Provide respite support to patient/family when appropriate.
• Maintain clean, safe living area and adhere to policies.
