Job summary

Gentiva is seeking a dependable Hospice Aide (CNA) to provide hands-on personal care and emotional support in home, hospice facilities, or long‑term care settings. You’ll work closely with patients and families to maintain comfort and dignity at life’s end.

Qualified applicants will have an active CNA license in Texas, CPR, reliable transportation, and at least 6 months of direct patient care experience. Competitive benefits apply for full-time roles.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license in state of employment (Required).
• Current CPR certification (Required).
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle with insurance (Required).
• Six months of direct patient care experience (Required).
• Demonstrated compassion, patience, and ability to handle emotional situations.
• Willingness to work independently and adapt to changing patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to terminally ill patients.
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
• Support safe mobility with walkers or wheelchairs.
• Help with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping.
• Observe and report changes in patient’s condition.
• Offer emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate documentation of visits.
• Attend team meetings and participate in Quality Improvement activities.
• Practice infection control and follow safety protocols.
