Job summary

Gentiva is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant to provide hands-on personal care and emotional support to patients at home, in assisted living facilities, or inpatient units.

You will assist with hygiene, mobility, meals, and safety, document visits, and participate in team meetings and quality improvement activities. Requires active CNA license, CPR, reliable transportation, and at least six months of direct patient care.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license in the state of employment (Required).
• Current CPR certification (Required).
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle with insurance (Required).
• Six (6) months of direct patient care experience (Required).
• Comfortable working in home settings, hospice facilities, or long-term care environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to terminally ill patients.
• Assist with hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
• Support safe mobility with walkers and wheelchairs.
• Help with meals and light housekeeping.
• Observe changes in patient condition and report.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate documentation of visits.
• Attend team meetings and participate in QI activities.
