Job summary

A Hiring Company in Seaman, OH is seeking a Hospice Aide to support terminally ill patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

You will assist with bathing, toileting, hygiene, bedding, transfers, meals, room cleanliness, supply management, and vital signs, reporting changes to nursing staff.

This position requires a Nurse Aide course and registration, and includes three 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, including weekends, at the Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Seaman.

Qualifications

• State-approved Nurse Aide course, testing and registration required.
• At least one year of patient care experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Empathy, responsibility and dependability.
• Effective communication with team, clients and families.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and use proper body mechanics.
• Must carry state minimum automobile liability insurance.
• Access to patient rooms and facility independently.

Responsibilities

• Clean and bathe patients.
• Assist with toileting.
• Maintain hygiene and change bedding.
• Turn, reposition and transfer patients between wheelchairs, seats and beds.
• Serve meals and help patients eat.
• Assist in cleaning and housekeeping of rooms and facility.
• Maintain par stock of supplies on hand.
• Measure vital signs such as blood pressure and temperature.
• Observe health concerns and report changes to the nurse.
• Work three 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, including weekends at the Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Seaman, OH.
