Job summary

Transitions Hospice in Columbus is seeking a dedicated Night Shift Companion Aide CNA to provide continuous bedside presence, monitor safety, and assist with personal care during the overnight hours. You will support families, document observations, and respond promptly to patient needs, ensuring a calm, safe night environment.

The role requires current CNA and CPR certifications, with hospice or home health experience and night-shift readiness strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification meeting state training requirements.
• Current CPR certification.
• 1+ year hospice/home health experience preferred.
• Overnight/night shift experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and stay alert overnight.
• Strong observational skills and reporting changes promptly.
• Compassion for patients and families navigating end-of-life care.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous bedside presence and patient safety during the overnight shift.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes to the on-call nurse.
• Assist with personal care and comfort, including repositioning and hygiene.
• Observe and document vital signs and sleep patterns as directed.
• Offer family support and maintain confidentiality and respectful communication.
• Use equipment safely and participate in quality improvement activities.
