Job summary

Hospice of Hope, Inc. in Ohio seeks a dedicated Hospice Aide to support terminally ill patients under RN supervision. Responsibilities include bathing, toileting, hygiene, transfers, meals, and light housekeeping across home and facility sites.

You will observe vital signs, report changes to the RN, and provide compassionate, dependable care. Full-time schedule 8:00 am–4:30 pm; weekends as scheduled, with care sites including private residences and facilities.

Qualifications

• Completion of State approved Nurse Aide course, testing, and registration required.
• At least one year experience in a patient care position preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Empathy, responsibility and dependability required.
• Effective communication with team, clients and family emphasized.
• Ability to accept supervision and follow instructions.
• Auto liability insurance as per state minimum.
• Clear background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and bathe patients.
• Assistance in toileting.
• Maintain patients’ hygiene and change bedding.
• Turn, reposition and transfer or move patients between wheelchairs, seats and beds.
• Serve meals and help patients eat their food.
• Assist in cleaning and housekeeping of patient area.
• Maintain par stock of supplies on hand.
• Measure vital signs like blood pressure and temperature.
• Observe and report health concerns to the Registered Nurse.
• Full time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with weekends as scheduled.
• Care site: private residences, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, apartments.
