Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a hospice aide to provide compassionate personal care to patients across Passaic/Bergen, Essex/Union, and Hudson counties. You will assist with daily living activities, meals, and mobility, while documenting changes for the nurse and following care plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state CNA certification.
• CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Assists with ambulation, transfers, positioning and routine daily tasks.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observes and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Follow written care plans from the RN.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by the nurse or therapist.
• Performs simple urine tests as directed.
