Job summary

Amedisys Home Health is seeking a hospice aide for full-time daytime hours to support patients in their homes. This role offers competitive pay and the opportunity to be part of a large, trusted home health and hospice provider across the U.S.

Responsibilities include personal care, safe patient handling, meal prep, homemaking, and documenting changes in patient status under RN direction. Must hold PA CNA license and CPR, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state CNA certification/registration as per state requirements.
• CNA experience within last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics during personal and supportive care tasks.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports and documents changes in patient status; reports to primary nurse when unable to perform a task.
• Follows written instructions from a registered nurse in the plan of care.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
