Job summary

Nurse Next Door in California seeks compassionate Home Care Aides to provide nonmedical assistance to seniors in clients' homes under the guidance of a Care Designer.

Shifts available 9AM-3PM and 3PM-9PM; opportunities to work 10–40 hours per week with flexible scheduling; training and CA registration support provided.

Must be 18+, possess CA HCA Registry registration, pass background checks, and have a valid driver’s license; bring empathy and reliability to every visit.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Current registration with the California Home Care Aide Registry.
• Completion of a criminal background check and disclosure of any history.
• Evidence of entry-level training or plan to complete paid training per CA rules.
• Evidence of tuberculosis testing and no active TB.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care.
• Self-directed with minimal supervision.
• Empathy for the ill, injured, frail, and impaired.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Execute the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living within the scope of practice.
• Provide personal hygiene support and dressing assistance.
• Assist with transfers, mobility, and ambulation.
• Support prescribed exercises taught by health professionals.
• Plan and prepare meals, including therapeutic diets.
• Assist with bathroom needs and continence care.
• Perform household tasks and accompany clients on errands.
• Remind and assist with medication reminders as appropriate.
• Report changes to the administrator or care designer.
• Complete service records and log hours worked.
• Remain available and responsive to client needs during shifts.
• Participate in required trainings and maintain registration status.
• Other duties as assigned.
