Job summary

Nurse Next Door is seeking compassionate Home Care Aides to provide nonmedical in-home care for seniors in California. You will follow care plans, assist with ADLs, personal care, mobility, meals, medications reminders, and companionship.

Training is provided, and registration support is offered by the company. Applicants must be 18+, have CA Home Care Aide Registry registration, pass background checks, and meet CA regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Current registration with the State of California Home Care Aide Registry.
• Criminal background check completed and disclosed.
• Evidence of entry-level training or plan to complete paid training per CA regulations.
• Evidence of tuberculosis testing with no active TB.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care.
• Self-directed with minimal supervision.
• Empathy for ill, injured, or frail clients.
• Good personal hygiene and tact.

Responsibilities

• Execute the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Assist with activities of daily living within the scope of practice for a health aide.
• Help with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Assist with transfers, ambulation, and positioning.
• Support prescribed exercises and mobility.
• Plan and prepare meals, including therapeutic diets.
• Assist with medications reminders and scheduling.
• Record hours worked and maintain accurate records.
• Drive to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Perform household tasks and provide companionship.
