Job summary

Addus Homecare is urgently hiring a Home Care Aide - Core to support seniors and disabled clients in their own homes. The role involves following care plans, assisting with daily living activities, and coordinating with the office for daily assignments.

The position is on-call for 24 hours, five days a week (including at least one weekend day), with 40 hours weekly and 20 hours guaranteed. Candidates must be 18+, pass a background check, and have reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Must have reliable transportation; if by car, valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
• On call for 24 hour shifts.
• Schedule is five days per week with at least one weekend day.
• 40 hours per week with 20 hours guaranteed.

Responsibilities

• Call office each morning for assignment and follow care plans.
• Assist with personal care needs (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal prep and laundry.
• Transport client to appointments, errands and essential activities.
• Assist client with self-administration of medications.
• Observe and report changes in client's condition.
• Work with limited supervision and communicate clearly.
