Job summary

Addus Homecare is urgently hiring Home Care Aides (HCAs) to support seniors and people with disabilities in their homes. The role requires you to follow care plans, assist with personal care, housekeeping, and transportation to appointments, with on-call shifts, including weekends.

The position emphasizes compassionate, reliable individuals who can work with minimal supervision and document client conditions accurately. A valid driver's license and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Must have reliable transportation (valid driver's license and proof of insurance if using a car)
• Nurturing, compassionate nature with desire to care for others
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• On-call for 5 days per week with at least one weekend day
• 40 hours per week (20 hours guaranteed)

Responsibilities

• Call into the office each morning for assignment
• Follow care plans for clients and report completed tasks
• Assist with personal care needs (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal prep, and laundry
• Transport client to doctor, grocery store, and errands
• Assist client with self-administration of medications
• Observe and report changes in client's condition
