Job summary

The Homecare Company of Tennessee is seeking a dedicated Personal Care Attendant to provide non-medical, hands-on support to clients in their homes under the supervision of a registered nurse. The PCA helps with activities of daily living to promote safety, comfort, and independence.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs and mobility, meal preparation, hydration, companionship, light housekeeping, and running errands as approved.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and Car Insurance.
• Reliable transportation without needing assistance to provide transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and oral hygiene.
• Support mobility needs: transferring, positioning, and ambulation as directed by RN.
• Provide feeding and hydration assistance per care plans.
• Observe and report changes to supervising nurse immediately.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe environment and assist with meal preparation.
• Provide companionship and emotional support; run errands or accompany clients to appointments when approved.
• Accurately document care provided and client observations in daily notes; maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
