Job summary

Abound Health is hiring Home-Based Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Wilkes-Barre, PA and surrounding areas. This is a home-based role with various hours available and a $1,000 signing bonus.

Compensation ranges from $17 to $25 per hour, with weekly pay and training provided. As a DSP, you will work one-on-one in clients' homes and communities, helping them live safely, independently, and with dignity.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in supporting individuals with I/DD.
• Ability to work independently and responsibly.
• Valid driver’s license and active car insurance.
• Comfortable supporting individuals with varying personal-care and behavioral-support needs.
• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass background checks
• Physical ability to assist with lifting or transfers if needed

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support in clients’ homes and communities.
• Help with behavioral, social, and vocational skill development.
• Assist with recreational and community activities.
• Follow treatment plans and document progress.
• Provide companionship and respite care.
• Submit documentation and payroll on time.
• Participate in ongoing training.
• Work independently in home and community settings
