Job summary

Piqua Care Center is seeking a Transportation Driver to safely transport residents to appointments, activities, and other locations within a healthcare setting. You will assist passengers with mobility needs, ensure secure seating, and maintain clean, safe vehicles.

Responsibilities include following routes, performing daily inspections, documenting activities, and communicating with staff to support resident care plans. CDL may be required for certain vehicles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL may be required depending on vehicle size.
• Experience as a driver, preferably in healthcare or long‑term care.
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws; able to operate lifts or ramps for mobility.
• Excellent communication and customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Transport residents/patients to medical appointments, activities, and outings safely and on schedule.
• Assist passengers with boarding/disembarking and ensure seat belts and restraints are used.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report issues; keep vehicle clean and presentable.
• Follow traffic laws, document transportation activities, and maintain safety records.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with facility staff as needed.
• Communicate scheduling changes with staff and residents to support care plans.
