Legacy Funeral Group, LLC. is seeking a part-time Funeral Assistant/Attendant in Hamlin, TX. The role supports funeral directors, assists with services, and provides administrative support while handling family inquiries with care.

The position requires willingness to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally push/pull 200 lbs, plus driving and vehicle upkeep. Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to use a computer and type.
• Proficient in MS Office suite and willingness to learn other software is required.
• Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to work and communicate effectively with others.
• Able to maintain composure in challenging situations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and pull/push 200lbs or more of removals if required.
• Able to pass a Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with removals of decedents (varies by location).
• Assist with preparing, dressing, and placing decedents into casket.
• Prepare for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, and other keepsakes.
• Prepare documents related to services, cremations, and maintenance.
• Perform office duties such as answering phones and operating office equipment.
• Run errands such as floral deliveries and supply pick-ups.
• Serve as an usher, assist with parking, and transportation.
• Drive funeral home vehicles for services and family transport.
• Assist with visitations, memorials, and funeral services.
• Greet families and provide information and support.
• Accommodate family needs during services and visitations.
• Wash and clean funeral home vehicles as needed.
• Work beyond standard hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
