Service Corporation International in California seeks a Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and operational support for funeral services. You will greet families, handle inquiries, assist at visitations, and help with service setups and transportation.

A compassionate, professional demeanor is essential. Requirements include a high school diploma, customer service experience, MS Office proficiency, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and databases; ability and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, and mementos.
• Prepares documents related to services, cremations, and maintenance.
• Assists with preparation of remains, including dressing and lifting, as permitted by law.
• Performs office duties: answering phones, using fax, computer, and multi-line phones.
• Runs errands for flowers, supplies, and documents.
• Acts as usher and may park cars or handle transportation for services.
• Drives funeral home vehicles for services and to pick up families.
• Ensures refreshments are available where allowed.
• Assists with visitations and services, including setup and delivery of family items.
• Greets clients entering the office for information.
• Accommodates family needs during service or visitation.
• May wash/clean funeral home vehicles and other client vehicles.
