Job summary

sci in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant to provide compassionate clerical and front-desk support for funeral operations, including family information, service preparation, and on-site coordination.

You will help with floral setup, item handling, driving duties as needed, and assisting during visitations and services. Prior customer service experience and a valid NC driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred; ability to learn required.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite and databases preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services including delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and keepsakes; ensures proper care and storage.
• Prepares documents related to services, cremations, maintenance as directed by management.
• Assists with respectful preparation of remains, including dressing and lifting deceased, or operation of crematory as permitted by law.
• Office duties such as answering phones, operating fax, computer, multiline phone system, debit card machine, and other equipment.
• Run errands for floral delivery, supplies, documents, etc.
• Acts as usher and may park cars or handle transportation needs.
• Drives Funeral Home vehicles for services and family pick-up.
• Ensures refreshments are available where allowed by law.
• Assist with visitations, memorial and funeral services, including setup, dressing and casketing.
• Greets and assists client families entering the office for information.
• Accommodates family needs during service or visitation.
• May wash and clean funeral home vehicles.
