Job summary

sci is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant in Chesterland, OH to support funeral operations and provide information to the public. This role involves preparing for services, assisting with ceremonies, and handling office duties with care and respect for families.

Responsibilities include greeting families, coordinating service logistics, managing documents, and ensuring smooth operations during visitations and services. A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
• Proficiency with MS Office and databases preferred; ability and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical and administrative tasks to support funeral operations.
• Greet and assist the general public with information on funeral and cremation topics.
• Answer phones courteously and route inquiries to appropriate staff.
• Assist on funeral, memorial, and other services as requested by management.
• Prepare documents related to services and maintenance as directed by management.
• Set up and arrange flowers, chairs, caskets, urns, and memorabilia for services.
• Assist with visitations, chapel set up, and transportation needs for families.
• Operate office equipment including fax, multi-line phone system, and computer.
• Ensure the office and vehicles are clean and prepared for events.
