Legacy Funeral Group is seeking an Assistant Funeral Director in Kansas to support the Location Manager with family service, service coordination, and compliance with policies. The role emphasizes listening, advising, supporting families, and team collaboration to fulfill death-care needs.

The position requires a Diploma in Funeral Services and pursuit or possession of the Kansas Assistant Funeral Director license, along with a valid driver’s license and solid customer service experience.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to high school education and completion of a diploma training program in Funeral Services.
• Must have or obtain an Assistant Funeral Director license in the state of Kansas.
• Good driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience would be an asset.
• Knowledge of computers and some software would be an asset, or willingness to learn.
• Above average communication skills and strong compassion/integrity.

Responsibilities

• Arrange and conduct funeral and memorial ceremonies professionally and in line with policy.
• Retain heritage and grow market share through community involvement.
• Respectfully handle remains and coordinate care and transport as required.
• Assist in funeral services: parking, ushering, driving, chapel/ cemetery support, floral delivery, and logistics.
• Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with licensing rules.
• Assist with documentation, data entry, and necessary reporting.
