Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases; ability and willingness to learn required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and other mementos; ensures proper care and storage.
• Prepares documents related to services, cremations, maintenance, as directed by management.
• Assists with preparation of remains, including dressing and lifting, or operation of crematory as permitted by law.
• Performs office duties such as answering phones, operating fax, computer, multiline phone system, debit card machine, and other equipment.
• Run errands for floral delivery, supplies, documents, etc.
• Serves as an usher and may park cars or perform transportation duties.
• Drives funeral home vehicles for services and family pickups.
• Ensures refreshments are available as allowed by law.
• Assist with visitations, memorials, and funeral services including setup and dressing of remains.
• Greets and assists client families entering the office for information and assistance.
• Accommodates family needs during a service or visitation.
• May wash and clean funeral home vehicles as required.
