Job summary

Sci Corp in Corpus Christi, TX is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support for funeral operations. You will greet families, answer questions, prepare service documents, assist with ceremonies, transport items, and help with visitations and set ups.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required; customer service experience is preferred; a valid driver’s license with clean record is required.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases; ability and willingness to learn required
• Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and other keepsakes
• Prepares documents related to services, cremations, maintenance as directed by management
• Assists with respectful preparation of remains, including dressing and lifting, or operation of crematory as permitted by law
• Performs office duties such as answering phones, operating fax, computer, multiline phone system and related devices
• Runs errands for floral deliveries, supplies, documents, etc.
• Serves as an usher and may park cars or perform transportation duties
• Drives Funeral Home vehicles for services and family pickups
• Ensures refreshments are available where allowed by law
• Assists with visitations, memorials and funeral services, including setup and dressing/casketing
• Greets client families and visitors, providing information and assistance
• Accommodates the needs of the family during a service or visitation
• May wash/clean funeral home vehicles as required
