Job summary

Sci Corp in Houston is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and front-facing support for funeral operations. You will greet families, answer questions, coordinate services, and help with floral arrangements and keepsakes.

The role requires compassion, strong communication, and reliability. You will perform office duties, assist with visitations and services, operate office equipment, and help transport items and guests as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases; ability and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and keepsakes.
• Prepares documents related to services, cremations, and maintenance.
• Assists with preparation of remains and operation of crematory as permitted by law.
• Performs office duties with phones, fax, computer, multiline system, debit machine, and other equipment.
• Run errands for floral deliveries and supplies.
• Serve as usher and assist with parking and transportation needs.
• Drives funeral home vehicles for services and family pickups.
• Ensure refreshments are available where allowed by law.
• Assist with visitations and services, including chapel setup and items delivery.
• Greets client families entering the office and helps with information requests.
• May wash and clean funeral home vehicles as required.
