Job summary

Service Corporation International in Clearwater, FL is seeking an experienced Event Planner to plan and execute funeral services, visitations, and receptions in line with family wishes and contracts. You will coordinate venue resources, vendors, budgets, and timelines, and support families with meticulous attention to detail during events.

The role requires strong MS Office skills, an associates degree in hospitality or related field, and at least 1 year of event planning or catering experience;

Qualifications

• Associates degree in hospitality, event planning, or related discipline required. Two (2) years of event planning experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• At least one (1) year event planning or catering experience is strongly preferred.
• Computer literate and proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Plan events by reviewing contract and discussing with Funeral Director for clarification.
• Schedules internal resources including facility space, equipment, vehicles, drivers, attendants.
• Contacts and schedules vendors with budget and timeline expectations.
• Manages services arrangements for visitation, funeral, reception, or graveside per contract.
• Develops catering menus and coordinates vendor contracts and pricing.
• Develops and maintains Event Playbook with KPIs and lessons learned.
• Performs other duties as requested.
