Job summary

Service Corporation International in South Gate, CA is seeking a compassionate Funeral Attendant to support funeral services, assist with room setup, greet families, and help transport items and the deceased as needed.

This part-time role requires greeting guests, preparing materials, driving family members to cemetery sites, and performing light office tasks. A valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required. Evenings, weekends, and holidays may be necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• No prior work experience required; funeral industry experience preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions, communicate with families compassionately, and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare casket and deceased for visitation or funeral services, including dressing and transporting the casket.
• Set up rooms for services; arrange chairs, tables, guest books, flowers, keepsakes, and casket.
• Greet visitors, provide programs, answer questions, and offer funeral information.
• May serve as pallbearer and may drive families to cemetery sites.
• Assist with post-service tasks: removal, cleaning, and storage of materials.
