Ethos Veterinary Health in Santa Barbara is seeking a Client Patient Liaison for the Emergency Department. This full-time, non-clinical role acts as the communication bridge between pet owners and the emergency veterinary team, handling updates, patient flow, and compassionate service during stressful visits.

The position emphasizes veterinary client service, healthcare familiarity, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced emergency environment while supporting intake, discharge, and billing

Qualifications

• Experience in veterinary client service or medical reception preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication and exceptional client service skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized in a fast-paced emergency setting.
• Calm, compassionate, and professional approach to sensitive situations.
• Experience with veterinary practice management software or EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary contact for Emergency clients, providing updates and support throughout the visit.
• Coordinate communication between clients, front desk, veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
• Support emergency intake and discharge processes and explain expectations to clients.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client communications and patient updates in the software.
• Review treatment estimates, process payments, and answer basic billing/insurance questions.
• Recognize urgent cases and connect clients with the proper clinical team for triage.
• Provide calm, professional, and solution-focused service during high-stress situations.
