Responsibilities include advocating for clients, reporting abuse, assisting toward independence, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and applying de-escalation and safety techniques during meals and daily activities.

Qualifications

• Written and spoken English communication required.
• Computer skills for report writing and documentation.

Responsabilités

• Be a client advocate by ensuring clients are free from abuse and mistreatment.
• Immediately report any incident of suspected abuse or mistreatment.
• Provide assistance, instruction and guidance toward client independence.
• Respect individual variances including cognitive, developmental, social, cultural and ethnic differences.
• Serve as a role model with mature, appropriate behavior.
• Work with the Interdisciplinary Team on ISPs/IHPs/IEPs to meet goals.
• Use SMART principles and de-escalation and safety techniques.
• Follow Woods’ safety and restraint procedures as trained.
• Assist clients at meals with adaptive equipment and close supervision when needed.
