Job summary

Woods Services in Pennsylvania and New Jersey seeks dedicated staff to supervise and safeguard clients with disabilities in a residential and program setting. You will promote welfare and communicate treatment goals while adhering to Woods’ Level of Supervision policy.

Responsibilities include advocating for clients, reporting abuse, assisting independence, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to implement individualized plans, using de-escalation and safety techniques as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and meet physical requirements.
• Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication in English and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Be a client advocate by ensuring clients are free from abuse and mistreatment.
• Immediately report any incident of suspected abuse or mistreatment.
• Provides assistance, instruction and guidance toward client independence.
• Awareness of and respect for individual variances including cognitive and developmental functioning, as well as social behavior, familial, religious, cultural, and ethnic differences.
• Serve as a role model to clients with respect to mature appropriate behavior.
• Be a member of the Interdisciplinary Team, providing feedback relating to ISPs/IHPs and IEPs.
• Use SMART principles and other principles/skills including de-escalation, conflict resolution, and debriefing.
• Use safety techniques and restraint procedures in accordance with Woods’ policy and training curriculum.
• Uses behavior management and other strategies as directed by the program psychologist/clinician or their designee.
• Serving and assisting clients at meals, utilizing adaptive equipment and providing close supervision and quality interactions at mealtime when intervention is required.

Salary

Salary: $16 - $18.40 / hour

Job Summary
