Job summary

Help at Home is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. The role offers flexible scheduling, weekly pay, and opportunities for career growth.

You will provide one-on-one support to help individuals build daily living skills and live as independently as possible, teaching daily activities, promoting community participation, and supporting personal goals with dignity and self-advocacy.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a background check and required training.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with proof of insurance, either primary or secondary coverage.
• Ability to work safely and respectfully in individuals’ homes and communities.
• Compassion, reliability, and a desire to make a positive impact.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily living skills with individuals and support independence.
• Provide hands-on assistance based on individual needs.
• Support participation in shopping, social events, and community activities.
• Help individuals work toward personal goals and track progress.
• Promote personal choice, independence, and self-advocacy.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and progress.
• Communicate with the team to ensure consistent, quality support.
